Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition 12th Gen 32GB (2024) - Metallic Black

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition 12th Generation is a premium e-reader designed for comfortable reading at home, while travelling and outdoors.

Released in 2024, it features Amazon's larger 7-inch Paperwhite display with 300 ppi, improved contrast and faster page turns for a more responsive reading experience.

The Signature Edition adds 32GB storage, auto-adjusting front light and Qi wireless charging while retaining adjustable warm light, IPX8 waterproofing and long battery life.

7-Inch Paperwhite Display

The 12th Generation Paperwhite features the largest Paperwhite display introduced at its 2024 launch, providing more reading space while maintaining a slim and portable design.

• Display Size: 7 Inches
• Display Type: Amazon Paperwhite
• Resolution Density: 300 PPI
• Color: Black & White
• Gray Scale: 16 Levels
• Touchscreen: Yes
• Built-In Front Light: Yes

High-Contrast, Glare-Free Reading

The Paperwhite display is designed to provide sharp text and comfortable reading across different lighting conditions without the appearance of a conventional tablet screen.

Amazon's 2024 Paperwhite generation uses an upgraded display with a higher contrast ratio for clearer text and images.

25% Faster Page Turns

The 2024 Kindle Paperwhite generation provides page turns that are approximately 25% faster than the previous generation.

This helps make moving through books, menus and the Kindle library feel more responsive.

Auto-Adjusting Front Light

Exclusive to the Signature Edition, the auto-adjusting front light automatically adapts screen brightness according to surrounding light conditions.

This helps provide comfortable reading when moving between bright and darker environments.

Adjustable Warm Light

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition allows you to adjust the screen from a cooler white tone to a warmer amber tone.

Warm light can be useful for comfortable reading during evenings and before bedtime.

Dark Mode

Built-in Dark Mode reverses the display appearance for supported reading situations, providing an alternative viewing option in darker environments.

32GB Internal Storage

The Signature Edition includes 32GB of built-in storage, offering considerably more space than the standard 16GB Paperwhite.

• Internal Storage: 32GB
• Approx. User-Available Storage: 25GB
• Capacity: Thousands of eBooks
• Amazon Cloud Storage: Free for Amazon Content

The larger capacity is especially useful for readers who keep large libraries, comics, documents or compatible Audible audiobooks downloaded to the device.

Up to 12 Weeks of Battery Life

A single charge can provide up to 12 weeks of reading under Amazon's specified test conditions.

• Battery Life: Up to 12 Weeks
• Charging Port: USB-C
• Wireless Charging: Supported

Amazon's battery estimate is based on approximately 30 minutes of reading per day with wireless connectivity switched off and the light set to level 13.

Actual battery life varies according to brightness, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audiobook use and other settings.

USB-C Fast Charging

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition can be charged through its USB-C port.

• Charging Port: USB-C
• Electrical Rating: 5V / 1.5A
• Charge Time: Approx. 2.5 Hours with a 9W USB-C Power Adapter

A compatible USB power adapter is sold separately.

Qi Wireless Charging

Unlike the standard Paperwhite, the Signature Edition supports Qi wireless charging.

Simply place the Kindle on a compatible Qi-certified charging pad or compatible Made for Amazon wireless charging dock.

• Wireless Charger Included: No

IPX8 Waterproof Protection

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is rated IPX8 for protection against accidental water immersion.

• Water Resistance: IPX8
• Fresh Water Test: Up to 2 Metres
• Test Duration: Up to 60 Minutes

This makes it suitable for reading around pools, baths and other places where accidental splashes may occur.

• Wi-Fi: 2.4GHz & 5GHz
• Security: WEP / WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 / OWE
• Computer Required: No
